While drawing this piece, Victor Ekpuk interpreted Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy” Symphony No. 9 in D Minor, Op. 125, "Choral": IV. Finale.

Ekpuk is  guided by the aesthetic philosophy “nsibidi,” where sign systems are used to convey ideas, he re-imagines graphic symbols to form a personal style of mark making that results in the interplay of art and writing.
